Barnyard Moosical!
1st grade Music Program
Thursday, April 24th 7:00pm in the Gym
The 1st grade students are working hard on their program, Barnyard Moosical. Each class will be assigned a different animal based on their class song. Below are the costume directions. Costumes should be brought to school on Wednesday, April 23rd . I have students bring their costume a day early so they don’t forget their costume the day of the performance. On Thursday, students will change into their costumes after lunch and perform for the school at 2:30 pm. They will then take their costumes home. They should return to school in their costumes at 6:30 pm to perform for the parents at 7:00pm.

Costumes
Each student is responsible for creating his/her own costume. The costumes are listed below by teacher. Please let Mrs. Hudson know if you are having trouble coming up with a costume. You can call the Lochbuie Office or email at kristinahudson@re3j.com.

Pants, shirts, fabric, felt, or other parts of costumes can be found at Michaels Arts and Crafts Store or bought at a thrift store such as Goodwill or ARC. Dollar Stores are also great for finding pieces of costumes. Turning shirts inside out or cutting up old clothing can be a cheaper way to create parts for costumes.

Cows: (Mrs. Kenner’s Class)
·        White, brown, or tan shirt (Solid colored shirts can be found at Michaels. Students can also use shirts they already own and just turn them inside out so they don’t have a picture or logo showing.)
·        White, brown, tan, or black pants (can be bought at a thrift store or borrowed from a friend)
·        Cow Spots made of fabric, felt, or paper (should be one of the colors above and can be pinned or sewn to the shirt and pants. Sticky-back felt can be found at Michaels)
·        Paper or fabric Hooves to cover shoes (can be made out of pieces of black or brown felt that are cut and pinned to tennis shoes)
·        Horns/ears (provided by Mrs. Hudson)

Chickens:  (Mrs. Fletcher’s Class)
·        Yellow shirt (if it has a logo or picture it needs to be turned inside out)
·        Yellow, orange, tan, brown, or black pants (no blue jeans!)
·        Yellow dish gloves to put over shoes (found at Wal-Mart or Dollar Stores)
·        Yellow feathers to pin on sleeves and yellow tail feathers (can be made out of paper or pieces of fabric that are pinned to sleeves and pants. Buying a yellow feather boa from Michaels, cutting it up, and pinning pieces to the shirt sleeves and back of the pants has worked well in the past)
·        Chicken hat and beak (provided by Mrs. Hudson)

Goats: (Mrs. Patrick’s Class)
·        Grey shirt
·        Grey or black pants
·        Hooves to cover shoes (can be made out of pieces of black or brown felt that are cut and pinned to tennis shoes)
·        White chef hat with horns (provided by Mrs. Hudson)
·        White apron (provided by Mrs. Hudson)

Pigs: (Ms. Kickbush’s Class)
·        Pink shirt
·        Pink or Black pants
·        Pink Pig tail (can be made of felt, paper, or pipe cleaners)
·        Hooves to cover shoes (can be made out of pieces of black or brown felt that are cut and pinned to tennis shoes)
·        Pig ears and nose (provided by Mrs. Hudson)
